SMALL SILICONE COMPONENTS
Custom Silicone Seals & Micro Sealing Parts
Small standalone seals and molded sealing regions developed around the mating assembly and the intended function.
A seal is an assembly requirement
We support material review, silicone tooling, trial samples and agreed production of small sealing parts. The starting point is what must be sealed, the available space and how the part is installed. Send the mating components and relevant limits with the seal drawing. Dimensions, hardness, retention and handling should be reviewed together; the shape of an unloaded flexible part does not by itself describe its behavior after assembly.
Define the material and smallest features
Specify the silicone grade where already selected, or provide the operating temperature, contact media, deformation, color and life-test objectives for selection. Identify thin lips, ribs, local sealing beads, small openings and areas where flash or a gate witness could affect function. Where post-curing or another secondary operation is required by the selected material and application, include it in the process and inspection plan.
| Geometry and assembly | Free-state drawing, mating dimensions, installation method and critical functional zones. |
| Material | Silicone grade, hardness, color, permitted additives and required material documentation. |
| Surface and flash | Acceptable witness positions, flash limits by zone, appearance reference and cleaning requirements. |
| Test method | Leak or sealing criterion, deformation, medium, temperature, duration and sample quantity as applicable. |
| Delivery | Samples or repeat batches; inspection condition, identification, assembly status and packaging format. |
Samples first, then a controlled production route
The development sequence establishes the tool and material definition, produces identified samples, evaluates dimensions and assembly function, and records corrections. A flexible part requires an agreed measurement method that does not unintentionally distort the feature being checked. For repeat supply, the accepted material, process, inspection and packaging definitions are retained with the project revision.
Handling, assembly and packaging
Thin silicone features need a suitable removal and handling method. We review manual, assisted or automated operations according to the part, quantity and inspection need. Packaging should prevent damage, mixing and unwanted deformation. A proposed automatic inspection must state what it actually verifies, such as presence or a visible defect, rather than implying it replaces every dimensional or functional test.
Does a silicone grade establish a finished-product approval?
No. Supply the required end-use standards and tests with the project brief. Material documentation, the finished component and the assembled product have different approval scopes. We define the manufacturing and evidence requirements without assuming a medical, food-contact or waterproof rating from the polymer name.
