ENGINEERING REVIEW

A part that will not fill.
A mold that needs review.

Start with the actual issue: part distortion, an uncertain material choice, a difficult feature, fitting problems or an incomplete mold acceptance package. We review the evidence and define the next engineering step.

Early supplier involvement, DFM, mold design, CAE and mold trials can be scoped independently or included in a full tooling project.

Dimensional inspection of a mold component

Before cutting steel

Provide the current part revision, material information, appearance surfaces, assembly interfaces and critical dimensions. The review can cover wall sections, draft, parting, gating, cooling, ejection and the proposed mold structure according to the agreed scope.

For Moldflow or other CAE work, agree the question to be answered, material data, boundary conditions and report scope. Simulation supports engineering decisions; it does not replace physical sampling and acceptance.

Practical checks during tool build and trials

Available inspection and trial work includes measurement of steel mold components and copper electrodes, mold-temperature checks, filling-balance trials, molded-part measurement and mold fitting on a spotting press. We select the checks around the actual tool and agree which records accompany sample approval or tool handover. These activities support both conventional and multi-component molds; they are not limited to micro tooling.

When a trial has a problem

Send defect photographs, sample identification, resin grade and conditioning, tool revision, machine and process settings, and measurement results. Distinguishing a material issue from a tooling or process issue requires more than the defect name.

The agreed work can include trial planning, parameter review, component inspection, correction proposals and a repeat trial. Record the change and the verification result before accepting the next stage.

Before the mold is delivered

Confirm whether the tool will remain for production or go to your factory. Define the target press interfaces, approval samples, inspection records, trial parameters, available design documentation, spare components and maintenance information in the purchase scope.

What outcome do you need?

Choose the decision the review must support: release the design, select a material, make first samples, close a trial issue, approve a repeat run or accept a mold for shipment.

Inputs: drawings and revisions, test or trial records, current problem, target acceptance criteria and decision date.

Agreed outputs: engineering questions, review findings, proposed actions and the validation documents defined for the project.
