SOLUTION EXAMPLE / NOT A COMPLETED INSTALLATION

Micro Parts.
Controlled Handling.

A practical automation concept for molded parts that are difficult to remove, orient, inspect or pack consistently. The sequence is developed around an approved part and a defined quality requirement.

The customer’s problem

A micro component may mold successfully but still require too much manual handling. Parts may be presented in the wrong direction, mixed between cavities or damaged during transfer. Flexible silicone features and fine thermoplastic geometry need different contact and support arrangements.

Proposed process sequence

Controlled part removal → orientation and support → agreed dimensional or presence checks → separation of accepted and rejected parts → optional assembly → counting and packing. This is a review framework; it is not a fixed line design or a proven production rate.

Design around the material

For silicone parts, identify allowable contact areas, distortion, sticking and the recovery condition in which inspection is meaningful. For thermoplastic parts, protect thin walls, small pins and precision interfaces. The fixture and transfer method must be tested with real samples, including normal part variation.

What to verify

Define accepted-good output, damage and false-reject limits, inspection coverage, missed-defect checks, changeover, lot and cavity identification, and the response to jams or missing parts. A vision check is not automatically a full dimensional or functional test. MT ferrule optical performance, for example, needs its own assembly and optical-test plan.

Practical stages

Start by proving the difficult handling or inspection operation. A fixture or semi-automatic station may be the appropriate first step. Link operations into an automatic sequence only after the part presentation, inspection and acceptance are defined. Production at NewwaySmart and tooling/equipment for the customer’s factory can be considered as different delivery scopes.

Send drawings and sample parts, material and surface condition, current process video, inspection requirements, quantity and variant mix, target accepted-good output, packing format and installation constraints. Equipment safety and commissioning requirements belong in the project specification.
