SIDE-ACTION TOOLING

Mold Sliders & Side-Action Components

Drawing-based slides, local forming inserts and associated guiding components for controlled release of molded features.

The forming detail and the moving assembly

We supply slider bodies, slider inserts and related tooling components individually or as part of a complete mold. The scope may include forming faces, guide surfaces, locking contacts and replaceable wear details. A slide is specified by how it forms the product and how it moves, locks and returns within the tool. Provide the relevant assembly and operating sequence together with the component drawing.

Review before machining

Confirm the undercut geometry, required travel, movement direction and release clearance. Identify the guide and bearing surfaces, stop position, locking relationship, angled-pin or actuator interface and any cooling connections. Where the slide carries a separate insert, define the insert location and retention. The review also considers access for fitting, removal and maintenance so a component can be serviced without an avoidable full-tool dismantling.

Steel and surfacesMaterial, hardness, treatment, sliding-surface finish and lubrication requirements approved for the application.
Fit and motionGuide clearance, locking contacts, stops, stroke, angular relationships and the critical molding position.
AcceptanceDimensions and datums, contact and movement checks, clearance to other actions, and inspection at the final treated condition.
DeliveryIndividual parts, matched components or fitted assembly; identification, protected packing and agreed records.

Machining and final fitting

CNC machining, EDM, wire cutting, grinding and finishing are selected around the geometry and steel condition. Tolerances are allocated to functional contact and forming surfaces rather than applied indiscriminately. When coating or surface hardening is specified, allowances and final checks are included in the plan. For replacement components, provide the condition of the mating guides and locking surfaces as well as the damaged part.

Verify movement as well as dimensions

Component inspection establishes whether the manufactured geometry meets the drawing. A completed side action also needs the agreed assembly and motion checks. Where the complete tool is in our scope, those checks continue through mold trials and sample evaluation. Where only components are supplied, identify the factory responsible for fitting, timing, safe machine integration and final product approval.

Do regional names change what should be ordered?

Slider, slide and side action may be used differently across drawing sets; 行位 and 滑块 are also common workshop terms. Use a part number and marked assembly view to identify the exact item. A complete moving mechanism and its replaceable forming insert should not be treated as the same purchase line.
